PRETORIA – President Cyril Ramaphosa has officially removed Minister Sisisi Tolashe from her position as the Minister of Social Development.

Interim Leadership Appointed

In the interim, the President has appointed Sindisiwe Chikunga to oversee the portfolio as the Acting Minister. Chikunga currently serves as the Minister in the Presidency for Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities.

Minister Chikunga will lead the Social Development department pending a permanent, full-time appointment to the role, which the Presidency indicates will be made in due course.

"The move follows a series of administrative evaluations within the executive as the President seeks to streamline service delivery across key portfolios."
