JABULANI – A 26-year-old man, believed to be the mastermind behind a string of business robberies across Johannesburg, has been apprehended following a targeted police operation. The arrest took place during an unplanned raid at the Jabulani Hostel conducted between May 4 and May 7.

The operation, led by Brigadier Tsotetsi and Lieutenant Colonel Balram, specifically targeted the suspect in connection with a high-profile robbery at the Boxer store in Jabulani that occurred in April.

Following his capture, investigators successfully linked the 26-year-old to several other open business robbery cases in **Dobsonville, Kliptown, and Jeppe**. During the raid, officers also recovered an unlicensed revolver and six rounds of live ammunition, leading to additional charges for the possession of illegal weaponry.

Community Calls for Patrols

While the arrest marks a significant victory for law enforcement, community representative **Mongezi Mbatha** has urged local residents to remain vigilant. Mbatha called for the formation of community patrols to assist the police in curbing the rising crime wave affecting local businesses.

The suspect remains in custody as police investigations into the broader syndicate continue. Authorities are optimistic that this arrest will lead to a decrease in business-related crimes in the Soweto area.
