CULLINAN – A routine crime prevention patrol turned into a significant breakthrough for Cullinan police on Sunday evening, resulting in the arrest of two men and the seizure of unlicensed weaponry.

The drama began when alert officers spotted a man behaving suspiciously while walking near local railway tracks. Upon conducting a tactical search, police discovered a loaded pistol tucked away in his possession.

The "Security" Cover Blown

When confronted, the suspect allegedly attempted to talk his way out of trouble by claiming he was a professional security officer. However, police intelligence moved quickly; a background check revealed that the man was not registered with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA), exposing his claim as a complete fabrication.

Residential Raid Uncovers More

Refusing to stop there, investigators extended their search to the suspect’s residence. Inside, they encountered a second man and uncovered yet another unlicensed firearm along with a fresh stash of ammunition.

Neither man could provide a satisfactory legal explanation for why they were in possession of the deadly weapons. Both were immediately handcuffed and taken into custody.

Ballistics Pending: SAPS has confirmed that both firearms will undergo rigorous ballistic testing to determine if they have been used in other violent crimes across the province.
