Tragedy in Las Vegas: Police Launch Search Following Brutal Killing of Rethabile Sekopane
The Bolobedu community mourns as a sudden night-time ambush claims the life of a young woman.
The tranquility of Ga-Kgapane’s Las Vegas section was shattered this past Monday evening by a violent incident that has claimed the life of a 20-year-old resident. Bolobedu police have officially launched an intensive manhunt following the murder of Rethabile Sekopane, who was fatally attacked while walking through the township.
According to official reports, the incident occurred at approximately 21:30 on April 27. Preliminary findings suggest that Sekopane was walking with a companion when an unidentified assailant emerged from the shadows, striking her with a sharp object before vanishing into the surrounding bushes. Despite being rushed to Kgapane Hospital, medical personnel were unable to save her; she succumbed to her injuries shortly after arrival.
Authorities have now turned their attention to Mr. Karabo Malepe. While not formally charged, the police believe Malepe possesses information crucial to resolving this case. He is urged to report to the nearest police station immediately. Sergeant Delton Makhubele, leading the investigation, has appealed to the public for any leads regarding Malepe’s current whereabouts.
