Lekompo Kings and Queens: The Artists Defining the Sound in 2026

If you walk through the streets of Limpopo or tune into the Bolo Radio Hub this March, one thing is clear: Lekompo has officially graduated from a regional sound to a national obsession. At Kutullo Angel Media, we’ve been tracking the charts, and the energy behind the 110bpm revolution is higher than ever.

While Bolo House laid the foundation, the 2026 wave of Lekompo is faster, bolder, and more technical. Here are the artists you need to have on your radar right now.

The Queen of the Airwaves: Kharishma

You cannot talk about Lekompo in 2026 without mentioning Kharishma. Her ability to blend soulful, melodic vocals with aggressive, stutter-step log drums has made her the undisputed queen of the genre. Hits like "Fly High Lekompo" and her recent collaborations with Buddy Sax have proven that she isn't just following trends—she is setting them.

In my view, Kharishma’s success comes from her authenticity; she speaks to the township struggle and the rural rebellion with a voice that feels like home.

   The Architect: Prince Benza

Prince Benza remains the backbone of the Bolobedu sound. Known for his "Ke Di Series" and his legendary work with Makhadzi, Benza has a gift for creating "balcony bangers" that work just as well in a club as they do at a village wedding.

His production style in 2026 has become even more sophisticated, stripping away the clutter to focus on raw synths and piercing percussion. He is the engineer that keeps the Lekompo movement moving forward.

   The Living Legend: King Monada

King Monada continues to prove why he is the "King of Bolobedu." While younger artists are pushing the BPM higher, Monada maintains that classic, mid-tempo groove that made the world fall in love with "Idibala."

His recent work in early 2026 shows a mature artist who isn't afraid to experiment with the "Bolo-Techno" fusion that is currently trending. He remains a pillar of Kutullo Angel Media’ mission to showcase excellence.

The New Wave: Shandesh and Natiey Lepaka

We are also seeing a massive surge from artists like Shandesh and Natiey Lepaka (the Lepaka Nation). These artists have bypassed traditional labels entirely, using TikTok and WhatsApp to build massive, cult-like followings. Their sound is "unapologetically loud" and represents the raw, rebellious spirit of the 2026 Lekompo scene.
